Saving Abused Animals

The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done
For this, the last battle, can't be won.

You will be sad, I understand,
Don't let the grief then stay your hand,
For this day more than all the rest
Your love and friendship stand the test.

We've had so many happy years,
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so;
When the time comes, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend
And stay with me, if you can, to the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time, you will see,
It is a kindness you do for me.
Although my tail its last was waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Don't grieve that it should be you,
Who must decide this thing to do,
We've been so close, we two, these years;
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Smile, for we walked together for a little while.

In Loving Memory

Casey

08-12-2007

Middletown OH

Cindy, Casey will always be part of your memory, but more than that, she will always be a part of your heart, as you will always be a part of hers.  She carries into heaven the memory of your kindness the day you rescued her, and the companionship & love you shared all these years.  Although your friend has vanished, she will remain beside you in spirit, and will eagerly be waiting with wagging tail to see her friend again. (While she waits, she will be playing with Reggie & Stevie like a pup again!)

I love you my friend, my heart is with you during your grief.

A Treasured Friend

I lost a treasured friend today
The little dog who used to lay
Her gentle head upon my knee
And share her silent thoughts with me...

She'll come no longer to my call
Retrieve no more her favorite ball
A voice far greater than my own
Has called her to His golden throne.

Although me eyes are filled with tears,
I thank Him for the happy years
He let her spend down here with me
And for her love and loyalty.

When it is time for me to go
And join her there, this much I know...
I shall not fear the transient dark
For she will greet with her bark.
