Cassie was found in June 2002 running down a busy street in the middle of rush hour traffic. I picked her up (much to my husband's dismay) and decided to take her to the animal control facility in town.  It was hard dropping her off, but I made them promise if she didn't get adopted or claimed, that they would call me. Cassie had 2 small wounds on one of her back legs, that looked like she had been shot with a pellet gun. Well, a week passed, and the pound called, so I went and got Cassie. When I picked her up, she was very excited, and they told me that she had cryed when I left her there. Cassie's trip to the vet revealed heartworms, so some of the remaining money from Bobbie Jo's fund went to her heartworm treatment, spaying and shots.  Cassie has become a very important part of our home, even though we have had some complications with her living here.  Cassie has had a hard time fitting in with one of our oldest dogs, Stevie.  Stevie rules the roost, and doesn't much like Cassie, so we have had a few very bad dog fights.  I wanted to adopt Cassie out, but being 8 yrs old, not housebroke at the time, and part pit bull was not in her favor. She is a very loving dog and probably minds better than our other 5 girls.  (Yes we have all girls, and they think they are girls, not dogs...)  The below picture is Cassie snuggling in a box.  She loves to get in little places and get cuddled in to sleep.  Cassie has a lot of love to give and is really a sweet girl.
